Yes this is rather odd. Sail and foil stamps is the measurement deal for Sabre events…and indeed one of the selling points of the class. No wasted day dragging boats on and off dodgy scales and trying to find out what everyone else’s boat weighs. Just turn up with an A class measument certificate and a recent stamp on your sail and foils and away you go. Fair enough checking sails, everyone has a new one each season so it’s important to ensure that they have a measurement stamp. Ditto foils although renewed rather less frequently. Or perhaps we go completely the other way – weigh the boats before every race and the lightest one can be the rabbit for those silly gate starts??
lamarstrehlow74ParticipantHi Damien
I got my sticker today, it was measured early november too so you should get yours soon.
lamarstrehlow74ParticipantFor the undecided who may be thinking of still coming, does anyone know of possible accomodation that may be available.
Initial searchs are not producing very promosing results.

Just put the them in a vice and bend them that way before you attach them, 2mm is no match for a hammer. You can bend them with a pliers once there in also but dosen’t work as well
lamarstrehlow74ParticipantDoes that mean on a 1-4 knot day you should pull the outhaul and downhaul on tight to make the sail as flat as possible?
lamarstrehlow74Participantthanks mike,
i really only needed to read the last sentence but thanks,

Rocket Man1717lamarstrehlow74ParticipantDear Mike,
Thanks for the reply…looking forward to being a member of this group and sailing a Sabre sometime in the new year with assistance like this.
Take care and see you soon..lamarstrehlow74ParticipantCan confirm that Bellerive Yacht Club is the venue at Tassie. It is below the bridge and much less tidal than at Lindisfarne. A great club house with excellent facilities, rigging area and trailer storage area.
Sailing area is extensive.
Will be bringing more info and details to Safety Beach. See you there.Matt Westland

These tend to be for interior cabinet work. I’d be very sus on the waterproofness of the glue used.
In principle it’s possible to vacuum over the existing deck ply….but very fiddly getting a seal around the edges i suspect. Ripping off the old deck is probably cheaper and easier .
If you go this way set a router to the thickness of the ply and router over all the joints to keep the interior wood intact. This releases the ply without damaging the underlying wood.
Best luck.Matt Westland
