Sixteen sailors entered in the series – representing Maroochy SC, Southport YC, Royal Qld YS and Cleveland YC.

Day 1 – Heaps of wind – actually – loads n loads of wind.
Peel Island weather buoy reading up to 28-33k.
Racing moved to the western side of Cleveland Point – Raby Bay.
Twelve of the 16 Sabres went onto the water for the races – three short races (about 30 mins each) completed in the challenging conditions.

Damage to centreboards was experienced by a few sailors leaving or returning to shore. Mo other damage – apart from some sore muscles!

Each race with a different winner.

PLenty of wind – able to sail east of Cleveland Point – had a run out tide all day. Magnificent to see the fleet of Sabres out there.
