Tiller design and construction

any advice on timber selection and construction methdology for a tiller for a sabre would be great. I have already had two break and would love to avoid this happening so frequently?

You could try the approved aluminium version shown in the building notes. It doesnt look attractive but responds better to straightening on the water.
