Hi all,
I have undertaken to make a small video documentary to promote Sabres to potential new sailers and to use for my own club promotion purposes. What I seek at present is short comments from anyone regarding why you choose to sail a Sabre. Please make any comments you want here on the forum or e-mail me. Please include your real name so I can quote you personally. A pic of you or you with your boat would be good too. If you have any interesting/funny video clips of Sabre sailing that are not already on YouTube would you please post them there or mail them to me on a DVD disc. I will interpret your response here or by mail or e-mail to mean that you are happy to see your comments and pics in the Video. You will receive a copy when finished.
Happy sailing!!E-mail: [email protected]

This is a great infinitive and one I’d be keen to support. Nick Moaut and I both got HD waterproof cams for Christmas (GoPro) and the next 30kt day we’re going to go out for some action shots – or as Nick kindly put it the other day, “catch your mast falling down on film this time” I’d be happy to share this with you.
Regarding some comments. I’d be happy to provide one, but I’ll leave it up to some others to break the ice first… come on guys!
One person did however say to me when I started sailing Saber’s that, “A Sabre is like a Laser without the backaches and bull*hit”. A nice line but probably not the best one to use for promotional purposes.
Cheers,
Chris

You lucky duck – I’d love to have one of those cameras. I hope you have fun with it and send me any good stuff you get so that I can incorporate it into the video. I like the comment about the Laser – it’s is so true.
Best wishes,

Hi LeaGreat idea, we are starting the Sabre class at East Fremantle Yacht Club here in Perth this season and would love to get a copy of your video when you finish it. This would be great to play on the TV’s in the bar and let the 2000 members know what a Sabre is and promote the class to a wide audience.
Please let me know if you would be will to let us use it when you finish.June 16, 2011 at 1:34 am #7436rudyeveringham9ParticipantHi Jack,
Well I do have a version ready it only needs a bit of tweaking and I would be very glad for you to show it at Freemantle. I will add something about the Freemantle Yacht club to the video if you would like to give me a bit more information and maybe e-mail me some pics of the club house and action at the club. If you have any video that you would let me use then post it on YouTube. It is great to hear that Sabres will make an appearance there shortly. If you would send me your postal address I will send a DVD to you.
Cheers,
Lea -
