Today was a beautiful day on the water Heats 4,5 & 6 were sailed in a North Easterly breeze up to 14 knots. Race 4 had about 11 knots, Christopher Dance was 1st, Alister Danks 2nd and Craig McPhee 3rd. Race 5 had a general recall for the first start so the “black flag” was used and 3 boats were disqualified for crossing the line after it was raised, the breeze was much the same strength as the first race with Christopher Dance 1st, Scott Olsen 2nd and Mark Soulsby 3rd. Race 6 had a little more breeze about 14 knots and again there was a general recall and the “black flag” used and 2 boats disqualifed for crossing the line early, Tim Van Der Veen was 1st, Craig McPhee 2nd and Alister Danks 3rd. On average over the 3 heats the last boat finished 10 mins behind the first boat, the finish was great to watch in every heat as there were groups of boats crossing within seconds of each other, the words “if you snooze you lose” came to mind as one or two boats lost several places.
