i have just sent my money for a new boat registration, and was wondering how many sheets of ply do you need to build a sabre??. when we built mirrors a long time ago it was about 6 sheets…
any help would be great(so i can budget a little better!!)
but im sure i will find out more when everything will arrives
happy sailing

You will need 2No sheets of 4mm and 2no of 5mm ply. If you cannot get any 5mm you may use 4mm and bring the thickness up to 4.5mm by fibreglassing one or both sides of the bottom panels of the boat.
thanks for the help!
is there also a way to build a fast sabre(ie centre case right back, flaten of the bottom, hard chines) . is this in the building info pack that i get??.what problems have people exp using the patterns
once again sorry to be a pain, !!
