I was wondering if one can use a standard laser fitting to attach the vang to the boom with a vang key. It is a square fitting which fits under the boom. The part number is 7500 boom vang plate.
What alternatives are there to the RF181 fitting recommended in the fit-out notes?
The laser fitting would be legal but I think the Holt Allen would be a better fit.

Thanks Phillip
I will find a suitable supplier. Do you know what the part number is?

The best part for this application is RWO, R4870 vang plate and R4861 angle key. The reason that I say this is the fitting has 4 attachment holes which are located on the widest part of the boom resulting in total shear load. The more important reason is that these parts are readily available and relatively cheap.
