There was plenty of wind for the Invitation race today, SE 20k gusting to 25k also a bit lumpy upwind, good rides downwind though, 29 Boats finished, the rest of the fleet had capsizes which resulted in a lot of “choc tops”, damaged gear was also top of the list and a few decided to retire. Congratulations to Scott Olsen from WA who was first over the line, followed by Peter Hackett from Victoria and Chris Dance also from Victoria. Tomorrow looks like more of the same but even stronger 25-30 knots being the forecast as from 9-20pm, a strong wind warning has also been issued so we shall have to wait till tomorrow to see what the weather brings.
