Following the sudden completion of the 19/20 season due to Covid and the ensuing uncertainty, the 2020/21 season started with promise, with a training day on a lovely spring day hosted by Port River Sailing Club with the current State champ Craig McPhee as coach.
Membership of the Association grew throughout the season to 32 members and there were 50 Sabres that sailed at some stage throughout the season at a club level. The most active clubs were Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club, Port River Sailing Club, Somerton Yacht Club, Adelaide Sailing Club and Goolwa Aquatic Club.
The State Titles were held over three weekends at PRSC, ASC and SYC with all races sailed (even with a Covid hiccup) and Craig McPhee retaining the trophy.
With new boats being planned and several boats already changing hands, the next season is already looking positive for Sabres in South Oz.
