On Sunday the 29th of November the WA fleet headed to Nedlands Yacht Club for the 2nd and final Heat.
We arrived to find no wind but by 10am (our first start time) we had a nice 12 knot breeze. The wind built throughout the day and after race 2 and a break for lunch we were treated to 20 knots from the South. The gusts recorder were up to 25knots! The result was flat out sailing with Sabres flying across the water.
Nedlands did a great job – John Mcqueen race officer, Ingrid our starter and commodore Milton made us all welcome and provided a great days sailing.Special thanks also goes to Chelsea, Ryan and Charlotte who were there to support the fleet and help Nedlands.
We had a first at this regatta – Paul Burwood (new sabre member) decided to transport his Sabre on the front of his powerboat! – see photo
