FINAL STATE HEATS 2014/2015 SEASON
The final leg of the WA Sabre State Championships was held at Perth Dinghy Sailing Club on 21st March. 4 races were sailed in medium to strong winds throughout the day.
The format this season was 12 races, to be sailed over 3 Saturdays starting at TCYC (Rockingham) back in November, Nedlands Yacht Club in December and finishing up at Perth Dinghy this weekend. 8 races constituted a series, which allowed sailors to drop a whole leg if needed.
We had races in the mornings and afternoons, to provide a wide variety of wind conditions.With 35 boats entered, and having around 20 boats sailing on each day, we had some great racing. The 3 Yacht Clubs involved provided fantastic support and race management, so a huge thankyou to all involved.
We will review this years format and take any lesons learnt in regards to planning next years events.
We welcomed Sabre Association National Vice President Andrew Graham who joined us for the Saturdays racing. This was a great opportunity for building relationships between Sabre sailing fleets in the different states.

Well done to all our WA sailors for an awesome 2nd stage of the States. 28 degrees and 10-14 knots of wind made for a great afternoon on the water.
